Contribution Rules

  • Ontario Resident Requirement: Contributions may only be accepted from individuals who are normally resident in Ontario, in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
  • Individual Contributions Only: Only individuals may contribute using their own funds. Contributions on behalf of another person or organization are not permitted.
  • No Corporate or Union Contributions: Contributions from corporations, trade unions, associations, and other organizations are prohibited.
  • Contribution Limits: The maximum contribution from any individual to this campaign is $1,200. Total contributions to candidates for the same council cannot exceed $5,000.
